Client Overview
The Lancaster Solar Facility is a utility-scale renewable energy project developed by European Energy near Kyabram in northern Victoria. The 106 MW solar farm forms part of European Energy’s expanding Australian renewable energy portfolio developed to supply the National Electricity Market. Renewable energy generated by the facility will support Apple’s energy commitments in Australia under a power purchase agreement.
Large-scale solar facilities rely on multiple inverter stations distributed throughout the site, each generating operational noise that must be managed to satisfy environmental planning requirements while maintaining safe access for construction, maintenance and future operations.
Wallmark was engaged to design, construct and certify acoustic barriers for multiple inverter locations, delivering a durable solution that integrated with the broader renewable energy infrastructure while supporting long-term operational performance.
03
Engineering Solution
The project required a series of purpose-designed acoustic barriers strategically positioned around inverter locations throughout the solar facility.
A Corten steel acoustic barrier system was selected to provide a robust, low-maintenance solution suited to the demanding operating conditions of utility-scale renewable energy infrastructure. The barriers were engineered to integrate with the site’s layout while accommodating construction sequencing and maintaining access for installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance activities.
Wallmark completed the design, construction and certification of the acoustic barriers, delivering infrastructure that supports compliance with General Environmental Duty (GED) planning requirements while providing reliable long-term acoustic performance.

Project Outcomes
The completed acoustic barriers now form part of the operational infrastructure supporting one of Victoria’s significant renewable energy developments.
By delivering certified acoustic barriers across multiple inverter locations, Wallmark helped the project satisfy operational noise management requirements while providing a durable solution designed for the long-term demands of utility-scale solar generation.
As renewable energy developments continue to expand across Australia, projects such as Lancaster demonstrate the importance of integrating acoustic infrastructure into renewable energy facilities to support environmental compliance, operational performance and long-term asset reliability.
