Client Overview
Holcim Australia’s new Badgerys Creek concrete batching plant has been developed to support the significant infrastructure growth occurring across the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, including the future Western Sydney International Airport and Bradfield City Centre. The facility will supply concrete to one of Australia’s fastest-growing infrastructure regions, supporting major transport, commercial and civil construction projects.
As with many industrial facilities operating close to future employment, commercial and surrounding land uses, effective operational noise management formed an important component of the overall site design. The acoustic barrier needed to deliver reliable long-term performance while integrating with the facility’s operational layout and construction programme.
Wallmark was engaged to supply and install an acoustic barrier solution that would assist the facility in managing operational noise while supporting the long-term operation of the site.

Engineering Solution
The project utilised Wallmark’s proven DuneWall® acoustic barrier system, selected for its ability to deliver reliable acoustic performance together with efficient installation and long-term durability.
Unlike traditional acoustic barriers that often require extensive excavation and complex installation methods, the DuneWall® system is designed to simplify construction while providing a robust commercial-grade solution for industrial infrastructure.
The system incorporates NATA-tested composite acoustic panels with an RW 28 acoustic rating, supported by hot-dipped galvanised steel posts. The modular design enabled efficient installation while providing a durable, low-maintenance barrier suitable for the demanding operating environment of a concrete production facility.

The completed acoustic barrier forms part of the broader infrastructure supporting Holcim’s new Badgerys Creek concrete plant and the continued growth of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis.
