Designed to connect the landscape

At Thornhill Park Estate, transparent acrylic panels were positioned to preserve and frame views towards Mount Cottrell and the Victorian Volcanic Plains, whilst minimising noise from the nearby Western Freeway. Coloured solid panels were incorporated into the wall to echo the forms and colours of the surrounding western Melbourne landscape, making the noise barrier part of the visual experience of the site.

The result combines acoustic protection with framed views, natural light and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape — showing how a functional noise wall can also make a meaningful architectural contribution to a project.
