Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) acoustic barrier designs can meet every requirement on paper but still create unnecessary cost, redesign and delays during construction.
Wallmark Sales Director Brad Hewines said the problem often came down to designing without the bigger picture in mind.
“Achieving the required acoustic outcome is critical, but that’s just one part of the equation,” Brad said.
“Issues can start at specification, with the wrong materials being designed into the project.”
“A barrier that suits a highway noise mitigation project won’t necessarily suit a BESS.”
Acoustic barriers for BESS projects may either be absorptive or reflective, depending on location, site and nearby residents.
