Client Overview
Deanside Village is a major residential development located alongside the Western Freeway within one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing growth corridors. As the development expanded, an effective noise wall was required to protect future residents from freeway traffic noise while meeting VicRoads and Melton City Council requirements.
Moremac engaged Wallmark to design, engineer, construct and certify two large noise walls extending approximately 1.1 kilometres along the Western Freeway. The project required close coordination with VicRoads, Melton City Council and the broader consultant team to ensure the walls integrated seamlessly with the staged delivery of the residential precinct.

Engineering Solution
Wallmark delivered two staged noise walls ranging in height from 6.3 metres to 7.8 metres using the DuneWall system with AcoustX panels. The modular system provided an efficient, durable and low-maintenance solution while delivering long-term traffic noise attenuation and a consistent architectural finish along the Western Freeway.
The project formed part of a larger staged residential development and required ongoing coordination with the developer, structural and geotechnical engineers, civil consultants, superintendents, environmental consultants and approval authorities. Wallmark managed the design, approvals, certification and construction process, ensuring the noise wall infrastructure remained aligned with the broader development programme.
A key project achievement was securing VicRoads approvals within a two-week timeframe, enabling construction to proceed without delaying residential development. Delivery was carefully sequenced across two stages to match the rollout of the surrounding estate while maintaining compliance with authority and engineering requirements.

The completed noise walls provide long-term traffic noise attenuation for Deanside Village while creating a durable and consistent frontage along the Western Freeway.
