Client Overview
Brick Pit Reserve forms part of Northern Beaches Council’s network of community parks and recreation facilities, providing open space for organised sport and local recreation within the rapidly growing Warriewood precinct. As surrounding residential development has increased, managing noise generated by recreational activities has become an important consideration in maintaining community amenity.
Ford Civil engaged Wallmark to supply and install an architectural acoustic noise wall that would help manage noise impacts on neighbouring properties while complementing the character of the public reserve. The solution needed to provide long-term durability, low maintenance requirements and an architectural finish suitable for a highly visible community environment.

Engineering Solution
Wallmark delivered a purpose-designed precast concrete acoustic noise wall engineered specifically for the operational requirements of a public recreation facility.
The system incorporates high-strength precast concrete panels supported by hot-dip galvanised structural steel posts, providing a robust barrier capable of withstanding long-term exposure within a public environment while requiring minimal ongoing maintenance.
Concrete was selected for its excellent acoustic performance, with the high-mass panels effectively reflecting and reducing noise transmission to surrounding residential properties. The inherent durability of precast concrete also provides exceptional impact resistance, fire resistance and long-term structural performance, making it particularly well suited to community infrastructure where longevity and whole-of-life value are critical considerations.
The architectural finish was carefully integrated into the reserve to complement the surrounding landscape while delivering the required acoustic outcomes.

The completed acoustic barrier supports the ongoing operation of Brick Pit Reserve by helping reduce recreational noise impacts on neighbouring residential properties while maintaining the amenity of the surrounding community.
